The NRA Home Firearms Safety Course is offered weekly. Due to high demand and small class size, classes fill up fast. Please check the website frequently for cancelations and additional class dates. If you do not see any available dates that means there are currently no spots open.
PLEASE NOTE: MOST LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS ARE SCHEDULING IN-PERSON INTERVIEWS 1-2 MONTHS OUT DUE TO HIGH DEMAND. PLEASE BE PATIENT AND RESPECTFUL WITH YOUR LOCAL LICENSING AUTHORITY.
Classroom location is 16 Front Street, Suite 204, Salem, MA, 01970. Both the Home Firearms Course and Basic Pistol Course will qualify you to obtain your License To Carry. The Basic Pistol Course includes a 2 hour live-fire session with the instructor.
NRA Home Firearms Safety Course (LTC-007)
$125 • 4 hours
Topics Covered:
The Rules for Safe Gun Handling.
Safe Handling of Pistols, Rifles and Shotguns.
How to safely unload Pistols, Rifles and Shotguns.
Causes of firearms accidents.
Applicable laws relating to the possession, transportation, and storage of firearms.
Class size limited to 4 students for a semi-private experience and personalized training.

Upon successful completion of this class, you will receive your Basic Firearms Safety Certificate which allows you to apply for your LTC in Massachusetts.
NRA Basic Pistol Safety Class (LTC-002)
$250 • 8 hours including Range time (classroom and range are done at SEPARATE times)

The Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting.
The different types of handguns and ammunition.
How to select the right handgun.
Applicable laws relating to the possession, transportation, and storage of firearms.
Class size limited to 4 students for a semi-private experience and personalized training.
THIS IS A LIVE-FIRE COURSE. You will receive up to 2 hours of private, 1-on-1 range instruction with this class scheduled separately. All firearms and ammunition included.
Upon successful completion of this class, you will receive your Basic Firearms Safety Certificate which allows you to apply for your LTC in Massachusetts. You must qualify at the range to receive your Safety Certificate.
Basic Rifle Safety Class (FID-001)

Qualifies for your MA Firearms Identification License (FID) only.
Students will complete the NRA Basic Rifle Safety Class.
This class is for students 18yrs. old or younger.
This class includes live-fire training with rifles only.
If you are older than 18, you should take the NRA Home Firearms Safety Class to obtain your FID. That will also qualify you to obtain your LTC when you turn 21.
Please call for the NRA Basic Rifle Class. Valid for FID only.
Must be at least 15 yrs. old with parental permission.
learn to shoot & individual range time
Introduction to Pistol Shooting.
1 hour private instruction designed to go over the basics of pistol shooting.
Cost is $75 per person.
Includes ammunition and range fees.
Introduction to Trap/Skeet Shooting.
Introduction to Rifle Shooting.
The firearms training is held at the Danvers Fish & Game Club located in Middleton, MA. All guests must sign a guest release form.
