Firearms Training & Education Serving the North Shore
Salem Firearm Safety teaches the NRA Basic Pistol and NRA Basic Rifle Safety Class for individuals wishing to learn firearm safety or obtain their License to Carry (LTC) or Firearms Identification Card (FID). Our classes are limited to 5 students offering more personalized attention and include live-fire training individually with the instructor. We also offer advanced training as well as Skeet and Trap shooting lessons.
NRA Basic Pistol Class (LTC-002)
This course will teach the basic skills, knowledge and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. The course goal is to Provide quality firearm training to law-abiding citizens. The cost for the NRA Basic Pistol Class is $125 per individual.
This safety course qualifies for the Massachusetts State Police Basic Handgun Safety Certificate that is required before you can apply for your LTC. Additionally, this course is accepted by other states if you are looking to obtain your non-resident License to Carry.
The Firearms Safety Course provides hands-on learning opportunities and focuses on the beginning shooter. Class size is limited to provide the training required to make sure that you are confident in how to safely own and accurately shoot a pistol. Unlike other safety courses, you will be totally involved in the class to help develop and build your skills in shooting. Additionally, you will be guided on how to select and purchase your first pistol and how to continue to practice and enjoy the shooting sports.
The classroom portion of the course will last 4 hours. The live-fire portion of the class is scheduled individually at a convenient time that fits your schedule. At the range you will have an opportunity to try several different pistols and build your confidence with each one.
Upon successful completion of the course students will receive the Massachusetts State Police Basic Firearms Safety Certificate to obtain your LTC.
NRA Basic Rifle Class (FID-001)
This class offers individuals instruction regarding rifles and shotguns only. This class is designed for those persons under between the ages of 15 and 21 and who wish to obtain their FID license only.
